The dry season is considered the peak tourist season in Mikumi National Park. During this time, the weather is generally dry, with minimal rainfall and clear skies. The vegetation becomes sparse, making it easier to spot wildlife as they congregate around water sources. The dry season is particularly good for game drives, as animals gather around the remaining waterholes and the vegetation is less dense, offering excellent visibility. This period is also ideal for birdwatching, as migratory birds arrive in the park. However, keep in mind that this is the busiest time, and accommodation prices may be higher.

It's an excellent time for birdwatching, as resident birds are more active, and some migratory species remain in the park. The wet season offers fewer tourists, and accommodations may have lower rates. However, keep in mind that wildlife can be more dispersed due to the availability of water sources throughout the park.

๐Ÿ”ธShoulder Seasons:

The shoulder seasons, which fall between the dry and wet seasons, can also be a good time to visit Mikumi National Park. These seasons, particularly May and November, offer a combination of favourable weather and fewer tourists. The landscapes are still lush, and wildlife sightings can be excellent. However, be aware that the weather can be more unpredictable during these transition periods, with occasional showers or thunderstorms.
